There are endless possibilities that exist in each new day. So often I look at life and see the obstacles in my way. The reasons why I can’t do what I want, go where I want, or be who I want to be. The barriers have existed since I was born, and they seem to be pervasive and permanent. If I never change my perspective of them then they will always stop me. How do I overcome them? Look at the positive possibilities that exist all around you, they are there.
Bad days happen. We fall down, we make mistakes, and things fall apart. That is life, but it has been my observation that the people who move swiftly through these mishaps and enjoy the positive side of life have developed habits that are worth emulating. It is easy to let negativity creep into our lives as we live day to day, but consciously focusing our thoughts on the positives that exist in life will provide value where it seems that none really exists. Being in love with your life during each minute is the secret to happiness. Accepting the bitter with the sweet.
Thinking has been a theme for me continually. I seem to have a lot of thoughts, and I wonder what they actually mean. Are my thoughts designed to guide me? Or are they here to distract me? Sometimes I could believe either scenario. Do thoughts actually provide any concrete information or do they just arrive to distract you from accomplishment? Positive thoughts always contribute to your greater good.
One of the peculiar aspects of this human experience is that the content of our thoughts seem to dictate what happens in our lives. That is the power of positive thinking. The thoughts we have about ourselves and others determine how happy we are, how fulfilling our relationships are and how we affect all those we come in contact with. The thoughts we give our attention to will dictate our emotional outlook. Dwelling on the negative thoughts such as jealousy, envy, fear, or judgment will inject your life with negatives. Whereas focusing on positive thoughts of acceptance, kindness, understanding and love the result will be emotions and feelings that are positive. Our thoughts are a direct cause for our emotional state. We are in control of the thoughts we entertain at any moment, completely and without question. Your thoughts and attitude dictate the reality of your life. Positive thinking is a choice of which thoughts you focus on.
What small positive thought are you having right now that could lead to any number of good things? Our thoughts remind me of making snowballs when I was young. You start with a small round ball that easily fits in the hands of the smallest of children. Then you put it on the snow and start to roll it along. The ball will grow, in size as long as you can find the power to push it along. Soon you have created a snowball that is so big it is difficult to pick up. That is the way of out thoughts, as we move them around they collect more of the same positive energy that formed it and soon your little thought has transformed into an action, which can be duplicated by others and soon it can’t be stopped. You are the potential catalyst for all good things that happen in the world.
Penny for your thoughts? They are worth much more than that. Each moment we are inundated with a million thoughts from our mind. It is difficult to shut off the flowing river of mental messages that we are exclusively experiencing in our head. We are capable of having all types of thoughts, positive, negative and neutral and the ones that we decide to focus on will create your reality and your feelings about it. Positive thinking will lead to positive results in life.

You Can’t Have a Positive Life with a Negative Mind – Unknown
Our thoughts are the most important thing that we create. Every day there is a non-stop production of thought coming from our minds and we are subject to the powers of the ones we pay attention to. In life, if we are truly looking to live in a positive manner than we have to learn to pay attention to the positive thoughts and let all the negative ones go.
How many great ideas are destroyed before they have a chance to take root? How many are discarded by the neglect of time? Due to fear of failure or a lack of self-confidence? The time to wait is over and the time for action is here. Taking action is THE ingredient that turns the perfect combination of raw materials into a masterpiece. A life is defined by the actions one takes or in many cases the inaction.
I wanted to share a few of the things I have learned about grasping your life by the throat through action. none of them are very difficult to do but they can be daunting. I continually have to remind myself about these things.
Minds work overtime, sometimes and I wrote this list originally several years ago but continually update my core beliefs as new evidence and experience prove old ideas in need of tweaking or total replacement. So here are the current version of MY CORE BELIEFS. Presented in no particular order, here are a few of the things that I hold as truths for my life.
We Are All Connected
Call it God, the Universe, or whatever your religion dictates, but to me, we are all connected through divine order. All people contain the same abilities for great love, and equal power to commit evil. That is just a part of this crazy game called life.
Keeping it All Positive
No matter how confident and successful you are, life has a way of throwing challenges your way that will push you to make decisions every day which redefines who you are. In everyone’s life, there are going to be events that force a constant expression of this experience.
In the end, even after facing a challenge I like to think that we have become a more galvanized feeling of who we are, and we hold on to beliefs with a more critical and realistic passion.
At each moment in the day, each thought that we entertain is a choice. Many times I find myself thinking a thought that is judgmental, negative or fear driven. Fortunately, with everything we think, the opposite is also available. Like flipping a switch, we have the ability at any moment to turn off those negative thoughts and turn them into a positive. This is a thought switch that is available to you at all moments. Rather than complain, think something else.
The conversation occurs subtly behind the actions of
the day. It is one that we are a huge part of but we rarely take the time to analyze the tone or tenor in which we are speaking. This is self-talk, an ongoing dialogue inside your head that will contribute commentary on the happenings you experience. Too often people just accept the conversation and it is most decidedly dripping with negativity. We tend to be extremely hard on ourselves and give extremely harsh criticism, often crushing our own confidence and self-esteem. Once a person becomes aware of this talk though they can make the conscious effort to change their self-talk and start building a more positive self-image. This will change the way you look at yourself and the way others look at you as well.
To fear or to love?
All situations in life can be broken down into a simple choice. Will you think and act out of fear? Or will you think and act out of love?
I believe that EVERYTHING you think will make a difference in your life. I believe this because of a lifetime of experience and entertaining the wrong types of thoughts. Basically, I lived much of my life under the influence of fear but have chosen to make a change and look at things with thoughts of love.
Life is such a crazy, wild, up and down ride that it can be difficult for anyone to deal with. Sometimes there seems to be no rhyme or reason why things happen and dealing with the sudden, quick changes that are thrown at us makes it hard to understand if there is something that we should or could be doing better. I mean, in the end, shouldn’t we be happy? Shouldn’t our daily routines and struggles bring us personal satisfaction and make us feel valuable as individuals? I think that it should, and one way to do this is to practice positive thinking.

Some days, when I am feeling negative, or just not as motivated as I should feel, I find positive thinking myself with something motivational, and positive. I have learned that what you put into your mind will determine much of what you experience in life.
This is a quick video that contains quotes, and thoughts on positive thinking that I have seen on Facebook, and other sites. They were posted to motivate people, but I need them all in one place so that I can experience total immersion. They will help you get your mind in the right frame of mind.
This can be a good day or this can be a bad day, positive thinking will make sure it is a good day. The decision is yours to make. Pretty simple isn’t it? but it is true. You have total control over what kind of experiences you are going to have simply by how you look at the circumstances you find yourself in. Positive thinking allows you to be hopeful through all sorts of situations.
