Seeking Positive Things

The things I seek are integrity, energy, and intelligence.

There are specific characteristics universally desired by people looking to create success in their life. When falling short of your goals and things are out of balance, look at yourself, and analyze where these three simple factors lie. Are they a high priority? Do they exist in your thoughts at all? If not, it is time to make sure you start incorporating them into your daily thoughts and actions. Also, look for these things in others you want to work with. You will not go wrong if you invest in these things. They are not the only factors you should look for in potential energy investments; they are an excellent place to start.

What You Do When Nobody is Watching

Integrity is a practice that can fade in and out of your existence and practice if you are not focused on looking for it. Good people will let things slide bit by bit because they start to forget about the power of having integrity in your life. What you always do matters, even if nobody else is paying attention. You create energy with every thought and every action, and that energy is attached to you. This is true of everybody in every moment of every single day.

Therefore, when you evaluate a situation, invest your time and effort into starting with the amount of integrity the person shows in their life. Do they let things slide when nobody is watching, or are they consistently stepping up with their actions? You can count on these people in all situations and the ones you want to surround yourself with. Find those with integrity, invest time with them, and avoid those who lack it. All of the people you choose to spend your time with are representative of you. Seek integrity.

How a Person Moves Through Life

The second factor to look for is energy. All people can produce and act energetically. Are they constantly taking sick days at work? Are they doing things in their lives to the best of their knowledge, or are they sliding by? You can give two people the same task, and the one with energy will produce find it easy to

What kind of energy do you bring to the things you do?

Accomplish, even if challenges arrive. The person with low energy will drift through the task. If all goes well, it may still turn out great, but if you face any challenges, it may take much longer or never get done at all.

Energy is subjective, but you will know it when you see it. People with power get things done more accessible and, of course, are much better to work with. They are the ones you want to invest your time with. All items are done to accomplish the goal, not only accomplishing what is in their best interest. Lack of sleep is a small challenge in my personal life, and all tasks are challenging. These are people to be avoided because they will make your life difficult and not provide a positive return on your investment. Find high-energy people and work with them.

Understanding Best Ways To Do Things

Intelligence is a skill that can be built and developed. Intelligence is not how well you learned in school or the grades you received. That might be a form of intellect but not the one you look for exclusively when looking for situations and people to invest in. It is the ability to understand the complexities of a task and get the job done most efficiently. You sometimes have to encourage this type of in

Being efficient is a skill it stems from intelligence. Look for the people striving to do things better, even if that is different from what you do now. Change in any form makes people uncomfortable because others may not work. But change is inevitable and constant, and it calls on the intelligence in all of us to strive to make things more efficient and produce more value in our efforts. There is a fine line between positive change and things that waste time.

These three things, integrity, positive energy, and common sense intelligence, are things to seek in people and situations you want to invest in. Also, keep in mind that you should look for ways to develop these things inside yourself. Find your suitable investments and become an excellent investment for everything you are involved in. Success is something we give ourselves the best chance to create in life.

“Integrity is telling myself the truth. And honesty is telling others the truth.” –  Spencer Johnson.

“It’s a funny thing about life; once you begin to take note of the things you are grateful for, you begin to lose sight of the things that you lack.”― Germany Kent.

“Intelligence is the ability to adapt to change.” –  Stephen Hawking.

Following The High Road

What Road Are You Traveling?

high-roadAll of us are duplicitous by nature. There is the person we allow the world to see, and then there is the one we keep hidden from ourselves. All people live in this duality, and for many, it causes a constant struggle. Two paths are presented to us. One is the high road, and the other is low, based on the moral decisions we make every moment of every day.

The Direction is Clear

Positive moral decisions based on the energy of caring, love, honesty, understanding, etc., are made on the high road. Whereas the negative moral decisions are guided by lying, cheating, intolerance, rigidity, hate, or judgment are found on the low road.

dotherightthingIt has always been peculiar that there is no middle ground. Whether you are traveling the high or the low road, the middle road is like riding on a picket fence; impossible to get there and more challenging to maintain balance.

Sometimes the choices are easy, and doing the right thing is transparent and beneficial to you.  Unfortunately, the low road is far easier and looks like it will be so beneficial that you can’t resist the urge.

“I’ll only do this just this once,” you say, with a froth of good intentions on your mind.  But it’s a funny thing about traveling the low road. Once you get that path, it is harder to get back up than we could have imagined.

The high road may appear complicated, and I wish I could say I always clung Integrity-Is-Doing-The-RIght-Thing-When-No-One-Is-Watching1to it.  I haven’t and have paid the price dearly.  As I get older, though, I strive for the high road more and more in almost everything I do.

I am not perfect, but I strive for it.  You don’t have to be perfect, be honest, treat people well, and not be cruel to others.

Remember, we live an existence of duality, and the struggle is constant between good and evil, right and wrong, the high and the low.   Be vigilant, and you might stick to the high road. No matter what happens, you are guaranteed to have the opportunity to learn something.  Or you can choose to live in ignorance.

“To every man, there openeth a way, and ways and away. And the high soul climbs the high way, and the low soul gropes the low: And in between, on the misty flats, The rest drift to and fro. But to every man, there openeth a high way and a low, and every man decideth the way his soul shall go.”   ~ John Oxenham

You Choose to be a Positive Force or Not

Let Your Thoughts Be a Positive Force

Positive forceAll things are made up of energy. That is a fact. You, me, and everyone we come in contact with throughout any day are made up of energy. All power comes with a specific charge, and energy will be transferred between people in any interaction they experience. All people are both receivers and transmitters of energy. How do you determine the kind of energy you are producing? The electrical vibrations a person transmits are based on the tone of their predominant thoughts. Simple as that. You might look at this and choose not to believe it, but look at any interaction you have ever had. What made the difference between a person’s positive and negative effects on us? It is nothing more than the tone and tenor of their thoughts that lead to their emotions, words, and actions. These have affected you your entire life, but it takes a little conscious effort in positive thinking to be a positive force in the world.

The Negative

Recognizing the negative is pretty easy because it makes you feel negative. The thoughts that bring up these things are based on fear. People who are angry, worried, mean, judgmental, selfish, or otherwise fear-based thinking will produce negative forcenegative energy in the world. These people are easy to spot if you pay attention because every word they speak is based on one of these emotions. They generally dwell on the negative and never have anything positive to say about anyone or anything. Being negative about something or someone is a way to build yourself by pointing out problems. These minimize you.

However, the cost of this type of thinking is that misery loves company. If you choose to spend time with people like this, you are in danger of being affected by this negative energy and falling into a negative pattern yourself. Once your energy has turned negative, turning it around cannot be easy. You can try to turn negative people around with positive answers to every negative comment, but the best way to avoid the negative is to stay clear of negative people. Spend your time in gossip and judgment, and you are producing plenty of negative energy that can destroy the joy in any room.

Creating Positive Energy

To create positive vibrations in yourself and your life, your predominant thoughts come from love. Kind, generous, accepting, joyful, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, truth, compassion, and faith. These qualities will raise your vibration and allow you to influence the world positively. It is difficult in our society because we are inundated with the negative. The “news” is a nightly horror show of society’s worst elements. You are designed to make you live a life of fear. If you live a life of fear, you will negatively impact the world, which is what most of us want to avoid.

Take some time today to look at your thoughts and the emotions, words, and actions they produce. Creating vivacious is easy and becomes easier the more you do it. Practice kindness, compliment, listen to someone with heartfelt sympathy, share something good, find something good in what you are doing, or find something positive in the world to focus your thought on. Once you start the process of being more positive, the easier it is to build and maintain. We are each responsible for the energy we create and its influence on the world.

Who Are You?

We all know people who bring you down just by talking to you. They make your day a little more complex and suck the enjoyment out of almost any situation. Some people are walking breath of fresh air. You are one of these two types of people to one degree or another. Either you suck the joy out of a room, or you supply it. Your decision is made in your mind by the thoughts you choose to entertain and pay attention to. So I ask you which person you are? We are all energy. Our thoughts and emotions provide this invisible power to the world. It can’t be seen, but you can feel it. It is never too late to change the type of broadcast you share with the world. If you don’t like the energy you are receiving, make new friends, visit new places, and leave negative influences behind. Choose to be a positive force by thinking and focusing on being kind, generous, accepting joyful, peaceful,  loving, hopeful,  serene, humble, kind, benevolent, empathic, helpful, truthful, compassionate faithful.

“Life has many ways of testing a person’s will, either by having nothing happen at all or by having everything happen all at once.” – Paulo Coelho.

“With everything that has happened to you, you can either feel sorry for yourself or treat what has happened as a gift. Everything is either an opportunity to grow or an obstacle to keep you from growing. You get to choose.” – Dr. Wayne W Dyer.

“Hate. It has caused a lot of problems in this world but has not solved one yet.” – Maya Angelou.

“An attitude of positive expectation is the mark of the superior personality.” Brian Tracy

“We don’t see things as they are, we see them as we are.” – Anais Nin.

What is Your Charge?

Every one of us is entirely made up of energy. The nature of your charge determines the types of thoughts you choose to entertain and the choices you continually make in life. For example, judging others and ourselves brings a negative amount to you, whereas gratitude brings a positive feeling and experience to your life. Your energy is something you will experience and transmit to others.

Have you ever been around someone with a negative attitude? It is something you feel, and it feels cumbersome. Some people bring you down by being in your area. Then others take you in the opposite direction. They are so positive they make you smile without saying a word. How do we create this positive energy? How can we become positive energy people? Think this way about yourself and others, and you will be well on your way to lifting many dark clouds from others, but more importantly, you will make yourself virtually immune from the negative vibes of others.

Be Grateful for Everything

It is incredible how many positive things come back to the simple act of being grateful. Building positive energy almost always starts with this practice. There is a difference between saying you are thankful and feeling grateful. Gratitude is a powerful emotional burst you have when you see something and know your life is a little better or more enjoyable because of the circumstance of that thing being there. Practice gratitude in all situations, and create a vortex of positivity around you.

There is a bonus that when you are grateful, the Universe seems to bring more of the things you are thankful for into your life. If you spend your effort and thoughts on judgment and negativity, You will find many more items in your reality to judge and be cynical about. Sometimes, it doesn’t seem like it, but this is all a choice we make. The energy you have inside yourself is a creation of you and the decisions we make every day. Think about this when you are experiencing angry moments about silly things like traffic or waiting in line at a store. Be grateful for a vehicle to be in traffic or the money to buy whatever you are in line to purchase. Gratitude is the attitude of positivity and the bedrock of the right kind of energy, making you a positive energy person.

Be Creative

Creativity is continually positive. Taking something and moving it from the realm of thought into reality is a fantastic trait of all humans. When you allow this creativity to come from inside your soul and speak to the world through whatever medium you choose, never stop talking to the world in this way. It is the most positive expression you can have, and if we aren’t here to make new things, why exactly are we here? It is easy to forget we have this power when we get stuck in our judgment and start to compare our experience to that of someone else. Life is not a competition, even though it seems it is sometimes. It is cooperation, and our creativity is how we cooperate.

Take some time every day and look at your thoughts and see how you feel about them. Your feelings that arise when you think of something will tell you whether you should pursue it or not. It will also determine what kind of energy you are producing because of it. Creation is always a positive thing for yourself and the world. Create your art. Create your plans. Start a business. Try something new. Sing a song. If it comes from the heart, it will bring positivity to your life and make you a positive energy person.

Allow People to Be What They Are

If you are the kind of person who sees the choices that others make and face them with judgment, then you have to learn how to allow them. People are all on their journey and maybe at a different point than you. Lessons need to be understood and how someone else learns is their issue, not yours. Perhaps your course is patience and understanding. You never know the full extent of what another person is experiencing, even if you are in a relationship. That is the secret of their mind. Don’t judge; allow people to be who they are.

Then allow yourself to be who you must be. Too often, we live a comparison life to others where we compare our bodies, bank accounts, and relationships with others. It doesn’t matter how this imaginary competition goes; you are still who you are with your body, the same bank account, and the relationships you have nourished. Your life is what it is and reflects your attitude about life. If you don’t like what you see, you can make other choices today to drive you in a different direction. Get healthier, wealthier, and love more. Allow yourself to be who you are. If you could have done better, you indeed would have. Look at the good in you and others and allow it to exist in growth in your thoughts and actions today. There is greatness in all people. It will only be found in you when you believe it exists. Become a positive energy person.

Open or Closed?

When something happens in your life, do you open up your heart to it? Or do you close your heart down and resist the reality of the situation?  All of our choices come down to this simple distinction.  Your decision in this area will determine your general mood and overall happiness.  To close yourself off or open yourself up to life.

Closed

Think of a time when you closed your heart down.  It could be a very justified situation like someone hurt you, and you closed that experience off because it hurt you in the past.  Then when anything arises which reminds you of that actual situation. However, it makes a lot of sense to want to avoid these things that hurt us once. Closing your heart, mind, and soul to them doesn’t stop them from existing. It only prevents you from dealing with them.  And, of course, things don’t go away. If you resist them, they only linger in the background and do their damage later.

Being closed will feel contrary to you because you are stopping the natural movement of energy through you.  For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. So if you have energy moving through it and you close down and repress it, there will be consequences.  Resistance will lead to feeling bad and have you operating with low vibrations. Spending all that energy reflecting and ignoring things can make you worn out and tired.  There is a better alternative.

Open Up Buttercup

The best practice is to learn to keep your heart open, regardless of how you view the situations you see.  That doesn’t mean you accept poor treatment or unhealthy conditions for you. Instead, you healthily deal with them, allow disappointment, pain, or suffering to move through you, and then let it go and move on.  One of the negative things about being closed is at least a part of you stays in a very unhealthy place for all time.  What do you change by doing this? Nothing.  Open up your heart and accept whatever is happening.  If a relationship ends, it is no good to pine away for the past.  Thank them for the lessons, absorb the learning, let go of the pain, and move on.

When you are open, your energy is naturally optimistic, and you will be functioning at your peak. You will feel good about yourself, and your point will be helpful for all you come in contact with.  Choosing to be open brings a high energy level, which will make accomplishing your goals more manageable, and you will feel better about life and your part in making it a worthwhile experience.

It is a Choice

To be open or closed is a choice, and it is a fundamental decision you make every day of your life. You can boil it down to this simple statement. Choose to be open and prepare to be happy.  Choose to be closed……… prepare to be unhappy.  Nobody else can make this choice for you, and only you are responsible for what you decide.

“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.”
– Mark Twain

“It does take great maturity to understand that the opinion we are arguing for is merely the hypothesis we favor, necessarily imperfect, probably transitory, which only very limited minds can declare a certainty or a truth.”
– Milan Kundera

“Begin challenging your assumptions. Your assumptions are your windows to the world. Scrub them off every once in a while, or the light won’t come in.”
– Alan Alda

“By all means, let’s be open-minded, but not so open-minded that our brains pop out.”
– Richard Dawkins

“Let yourself be open, and life will be easier. A spoon of salt in a glass of water makes the water undrinkable, and a spoon of salt in a lake is almost unnoticed.”
– Buddha Siddhartha

Consequence

Every action has a reaction and a consequence.

All you experience in life is a result of the actions that you have taken. It is a bad habit we develop excuses to justify unfortunate situations faced in our experience and the circumstances we are in. Apologies are only going to hold you back. Accepting responsibility is always the best answer.  Even if you honestly feel that things are out of your control, taking responsibility for where you are is the best mindset to adopt.

Otherwise, you are always looking to accept the mentality of the victim.  We all have choices every day, and each decision we make in thought, word, or action will affect our lives.  Better to be favorable than unfavorable. In a nutshell, it is essential to understand that all actions we take will affect our experience.  Always without exception.

The Energy of Life

All things are energy. Energy can’t be created nor destroyed; it is only transformed.  In your life, the actions you choose to take will influence the power around you.  All of the decisions that we make in our thoughts become our words and our actions.  The ability associated with these things is dictated by the tenor and tone of our dreams.  Positive reviews create positive words and actions. This process leads to positive energy. The same is true for negative energy as well. Your thoughts dictate it.

There is energy all around you all the time. If you want to test this cause and effect law on point, spend time with an intensely negative person.  Someone who spends their time complaining and gossiping about other people will bring an opposing force to their lives that will diffuse into yours if you spend a lot of time with them.   The same is true of someone positive in thought and action; they will create positive, good energy around you that you will take with you.  The moral of this cause and effect moment is to look for the positive people in life, choose to spend time with them and avoid negative people.

Leave Excuses Behind

As children, we face many situations where we are trying to avoid punishment for our actions.  Not doing homework, doing something a little dangerous, or doing anything against our parent’s wishes could lead to trouble and punishment. We learn to manipulate with excuses from an early age.  Once we find the most plausible explanation that everyone accepts, we use it again and again.  It could be about our health, a mental issue, or just a lack of talent.  Once you agree with an excuse, you have pushed responsibility off.  So as you might have gained the momentary reward of not being punished or manipulating a situation in your favor, the effect of that is you will start to create and accept excuses in all areas of your life.

The effects of excuse-making take away your power.  You will now be looking for reasons outside of yourself for everything that happens rather than looking at yourself and accepting responsibility for where you are and taking actions to get you where you want to be.  The effect of taking responsibility is a personal power that will help propel you toward whatever you want to accomplish. You can take actions that will affect your life and the world, which can happen every second of every day. Leave the excuses behind and accept responsibility whenever you can in life, and be empowered with what you can accomplish.

Be a Positive Effect

In your own choices in life, be a positive force in the world.  Focus on what you think, say, and do, in particular when it comes to how you deal with other people. Be accepting of those with different views and forgive those you have perceived to have wronged you. Give to those less fortunate than you.  Be a cause that has a positive effect on the world.  Be grateful for what you have and accepting of all good things entering your life. This, to me, is the best way to understand the law of cause and effect and make it a positive thing for your life and the world.

“The sower may mistake and sow his peas crookedly: the peas make no mistake, but come up and show his line.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson.

“Nobody ever did, or ever will escape the consequences of his choices.” – Alfred A. Montapert.

To Forgive

forgiveness 99To live life is to be let down. Disappointment seems to come with the territory. We then have a few simple choices when things go wrong, and we can carry around the anger of being hurt or practice forgiveness and move on. Sometimes other people’s actions are so painful that it seems impossible to forgive like you will be letting the person who wronged you off the hook. That is the same attitude that keeps you suffering and under the control of an event or the actions of others for your entire life.  There are many benefits of forgiveness the will make your life a more enjoyable experience.  Freedom is one, and there are many benefits of forgiveness.

Your Health Will Be Better.

When you look around the internet for benefits of forgiveness, the Mayo Clinic offers a great many

Greater health and energy from forgiveness
More excellent health and energy from forgiveness

physical benefits the process of forgiving can provide. Letting go of the negative emotions surrounding any grudge-holding or hurt is not debatable. They include lower blood pressure, a lower risk of depression, decreased anxiety, improved relationships, better heart health, and a more robust immune system.

All of these were coming from the rational choice to forgive someone. The alternative is to hang on to the grudge and have all of the material things above become a problem, as in increased anxiety, higher blood pressure, more mediocre relationships, worse heart health, and weaker immune system. It seems like a no-brainer for your health to forgive others or yourself and let go of the negative emotions surrounding an event in your life. Your health will be better for it.

Buddha once said, “Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.”

Forgiveness Nurtures Growth

It doesn’t seem to matter if it is a relatively small event you can’t forgive someone or yourself for or a choose to growhuge mistake when you maintain the grudge. You are remaining stuck where you are.  Think about it, an event that has happened in the past exists in the past, and as long as your focus is on the past, that is where you will stay.  To forgive and let go of the anger will allow you to move forward with your life. The only way to become unstuck and start to grow is to forgive those we are angry with.

Events in the past are not going to change, and they are what they are. Only your attitude about them can change, and you have total control over them. The person who gets the benefit of your forgiveness is going to be you. You will find that you can create, be optimistic about the future, and leave the weight of the past behind you. You will be surprised how much you can do without all that extra weight of blame, anger, hatred, and lack of forgiveness weighing you down. You can begin to grow again. Without growth, life ceases to exist.

Nobody is Off The Hook

Forgiveness is not weighted. That is, there are no levels of forgiveness, depending on the wrong forgive1committed. You will still be weighed down, trapped by an event or person, and unable to grow until you decide to forgive.  Many people I talk to say that what was done to them was too awful, too terrible to be forgiven. When you forgive, you do not condone or make anything morally right. You permit yourself to leave the experience of the event behind you and to move forward. Nobody is let off the hook by your forgiveness except for you.  You never have to talk to a person to forgive them.

Forgiveness is a rational choice that you make, allowing you to direct your thoughts more positively. It will enable a person to create positive new memories and a life full of happiness and joy, rather than to be weighed down by the negative memory of an event or person from the path. All of the control in your life will move you and away from an adverse event.  You will become a more reliable, more powerful person when you practice forgiveness because forgiveness is proactive. Anger, resentment, grudges, and hate are all reactive.
