In 2010 a young businessman returned to Afghanistan with a dream about starting a Rugby league in the war torn country. He had fallen in love with the game and the physicality of play and thought that it would be a popular sport to introduce to his homeland.
There was then the challenge and recruiting entire teams from a population that probably had never seen a rugby match in their life. The athletes of Afghanistan were more than willing to learn and take up a new sport, so they went about teaching and learning games. At first they started with just five people but continued to add them so that it was then ten people, then forty people . Then after they played for awhile they had a one month camp in Kabul and then chose the very first national rugby teams from that tryout. I have always thought that this simple poem helped me understand and deal with many different situations and helped me to experience many great things. I found this picture pretty interesting. When you look at all of the changes that are happening around this medium, it is important to realize just where you fit in the chain of Facebook’s existence. Face it, if they weren’t able to make money from using you as a commodity you wouldn’t have the services that you do.
Leroy Jethro Gibbs is the character that Mark Harmon portrays on NCIS. Of all of the NCIS characters, I have been told that my perspective on life is very similar to his and I take that as a compliment. It was from this character that I got the idea for writing down my “rules for life”, because if you don’t have rules to live by you can easily lose your way. There have been several different versions of the rules that have come out over the course of the show, but they are all pretty good rules to follow if you are an NCIS Agent or just a person in the world. “Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers, you cannot be successful or happy.”
Norman Vincent Peale
What is Confidence?
In everyone’s life, no matter who you are or what you do, the feeling of confidence you have about yourself and your abilities will directly lead to the amount of success you enjoy throughout your life. Confidence alone is not enough to lead you to the top but it can supply the power to get you there. Read more...(574 words, 2 images, estimated 2:18 mins reading time)
There is nothing quite as relaxing as playing 18 holes on a warm summer day with people you like hanging out with. Usually most people who play golf are pretty decent people because the game is too hard for people with bad attitudes. In fact I have never met someone on the golf course that I didn’t see some redeeming quality in. Read more...(1396 words, 3 images, estimated 5:35 mins reading time)
The phrase, “thank you”, is one that we often times either forget to use enough or even more often forget how much it can mean to someone else. Often times I think that we don’t properly thank someone when what they did was seemingly so insignificant to them that thanking them might make them uncomfortable. Recently I met someone, who had never met me, and had no pre-conceived notions about me whatsoever. We proceeded to have a quick ten-fifteen minute conversation in which I learned more about her and she more about me than I would have thought possible. I mention this because that person, I am sure never realized what kind of impact they had on me. I have never met anyone who had such a unique ability to make everyone around her feel better about themselves. So I say “Thank you” to her, we may never meet again, but the impact on me has made me want to be more positively impactful on the people I meet. I have made it a mission that when I meet people to try to make them feel like I felt that day. I am so grateful for this encounter. I have often found inspiration in these simple words. Originally I was introduced to them by my grandfather, and whenever I feel like quitting or feeling sorry for myself, I can read these words and somehow find the inspiration to keep on moving forward. It seems sometimes that life is an overwhelming experience, with many pitfalls and unpleasant experiences, but there is so much good out there and so many really great things to experience. Never let the world get you down. Don’t you EVER quit!

It is with a little bit of embarrassment that I admit that I love the television series, Psych. Truly I just love to watch Psych! It is a show designed, I think for people who are younger than me but I started watching it on Netflix and thanks to Psych episodes online, I quickly went through the first four seasons of the show and am an avid “Pshych-O”. Be On Time
In my experience throughout life, the first rule of anything that you do is to always be on time. I know it seems like common sense but I am constantly surprised by how many people fail to follow this simple practice.

As far back as I can remember I have really not liked tomatoes. I just think it tastes bad and particularly the texture isn’t something I have ever liked. No tomato in my sandwich I will have a BL with no T thank you very much. But here is the problem. I really like many tomato products, ketchup, tomato sauce, tomato paste, I can even eat tomatoes if they have been cooked. But fresh tomatoes out of the garden, no thank you, you can keep them. A long while ago, a great warrior faced a situation which make it necessary for him to make a decision which insured his success on the battlefield. He was about to send his armies against a powerful foe, whose warriors outnumbered his own. He loaded his soldiers into boats, sailed to the enemy’s country, unloaded soldiers and equipment then gave the order to burn the ships that had carried them . Addressing his men before the first battle, he said, “you see the boats going up in smoke. That means that we cannot leave these shores alive unless we win! We now have no choice we win or we perish! They won. Read more...(259 words, 2 images, estimated 1:02 mins reading time)

ST PETERSBURG, FL – It was a night of near perfection at Tropicana Field as Boston Red Sox ace Josh Beckett mowed down the Rays in dominant fashion to lead the team to their tenth win in eleven games defeating the Rays 3-0 on Wednesday night. A Reid Brignac infield single in the third inning was the only blemish on Beckett’s pitching line. With the Bruins winning an exciting game 7 and securing the Stanley Cup for the hub, the question can be asked, was anybody watching? Hopefully they were, because this was a vintage Josh Beckett performance, and perhaps his best ever in a Red Sox uniform. Read more...(456 words, 3 images, estimated 1:49 mins reading time)
