One of the things we all must deal with as we walk through the world is the loss of a loved one. This loss can be sudden and swift or slow and painful but no matter how this loss occurs the pain of missing someone who is a light in your life is not lessened. There really can be no words to describe the empty void that is left behind. Inevitably life will continue as it must, and you will move on with your daily experiences because that is what we must eventually do. But those activities will always be brushed by the thoughts of our loved ones that have passed away.
As you do, create, strive, succeed, fail, change jobs, have a family, or love in your life, the accomplishments will never cease to be a source of pride for those loved ones we have lost, because they always will be proud.
Never worry about losing them, because they are with you as long as they are in your thoughts. When you need inspiration to create that perfect thing, or courage to take that chance, think of them and you will find it.
One of the greatest mysteries of life is death and loss. Don’t waste time asking why, because you’re focusing on the wrong thing. When you think of why you are focusing on how this loss affects only you and comforted your existence. It will never be fully answered because how are we to know? Will wondering why change anything? It will not. Think about all of the good things a person brought to the table, a smile, a laugh, support, love, strength, courage. Define these many qualities through your loved one and you will see the value in that person, and yes you will miss them, as you should. You will go on to great things and carry their memory with you every step of the way.
Death is Nothing At All
I have only slipped away to the next room.
I am I and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other,
That, we still are.Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the easy way
which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me. Pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word
that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effect.
Without the trace of a shadow on it.Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same that it ever was.
There is absolute unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?I am but waiting for you.
For an interval.
Somewhere. Very near.
Just around the corner. All is well.
Sunset and evening star,
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar,
When I put out to sea,
But such a tide as moving seems asleep,
Too full for sound and foam,
When that which drew from out the boundless deep
Turns again home.
Twilight and evening bell,
And after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell,
When I embark;
For tho’ from out our bourne of Time and Place
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot face to face
When I have crost the bar.
note********* The bar referred to is a sandspit or similar promontory at the mouth of a river or harbour where tides have deposited sand over time. To hear the wind and waves moaning off the bar usually means that there is insufficient water to sail over the bar without grounding. Hence the second verse and its reference to a “full tide” or “high water”
