I’m Really Blue, Are You?

I'm Blue

I am definitely blue, but not in a bad way!

by Jonathan Hilton

Pouring over my daily dose of inspiration I was looking for a great idea to write about, and most great ideas come from other bloggers who know much more than me.

I didn’t have to look very far to find one that hit me right where I live.  It was on the site called Creative Guru , which features great ideas, fantastic writing and a tale of self discovery.

Today there was a post about what color she is, not literally, but here personality.  That she was once a yellow but over time has become more of a blue.  She started to have blue infiltrate her life, to fill it up. Blue just started to show up in clothing and household items.

I was intrigued because I was trying to see if there was a color that had infiltrated my life.  I enjoyed the writing so much I commented and stated that I didn’t particularly notice any color all over my life.  She suggested to start by noticing the color of the shirt I was wearing today.

blue peter griffin

I didn’t touch nothin’ Wonka! Peter is blue too.

I looked down at my blue jacket I had on, and unzipped the coat.  Revealing a shirt the exact shade of blue as the jacket.  “That is kind of strange” I thought to myself, then noticed further the blue pants I had on.  I looked like a giant walking blueberry. I even had blue socks on!

It was absolutely true that I put no thought into what I was going to wear today, I just picked what jumped out at me and that was blue.  How accurate could this color business be? Well here is what blue is said to reveal about your personality:

” Lovers of blue have a deep need to find inner peace and truth, to live their life according to their ideals and beliefs without having to change their inflexible viewpoint of life to satisfy others.”

This was kind of a strange thing because without looking very hard I found the following pieces I have written in the past year about living my life by my own ideals.

A Path to Inner Peace  , Everything You Do Matters,  Forgive and move on,

Then I learned that those who favor Indigo:

“have a need to feel in harmony and at one with the Universe and to be accepted by others as the aware and intuitive spiritual beings that they are.”

Which I wrote about in a post called My Biggest Fear, which happens to be the fear of what others think about me.  Much of what I write is from a spiritual perspective or has been influenced by my journey of self discovery.  Then I was totally psyched up because there is definitely something to this color business.  You can pick almost any of the posts I have written and they come from this base.  Read any of the Thirty Question Project posts and they will reveal the truth, that yes, I am blue, but in a good way!

Tobias blue man

I feel this blue! Thanks Tobias.

Then I started to think about how blue I really am, how I own other color shirts but I like blue the best, from my trusty superman shirt to any and all New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox paraphernalia I wear on a semi-regular basis. Blue, blue, blue, there is no escaping it I am a blue man.  I should move to Vegas and join the Blue Man Group.

In all seriousness I enjoy learning about new things so much, and to find out things that are signs of why I think the way I do, act the way I do, and wear what I wear.

This was so much fun and such a great experience that I decided to post it immediately so if you are interested in seeing where your personality type lies then follow the link below! You may be blue, red, yellow, or some other color.  No matter what where you fit in on the spectrum of color. It is OK because that is who you are! Wear you colors proudly.

See about your personality from http://www.empower-yourself-with-color-psychology.com/personality-color.html, it’s a pretty neat site, they have much more in-depth definitions than I gave above.

Wellll, I may not be able to follow you…or you may block me due to my loyalty toward New York teams…*taking a deep breath and sighing heavily* lol I enjoyed this post. I have a book about how colors correlate with certain emotions and moods but had not read anything about what people wear, in terms of color, says about their personalities. Black is my staple. I like wearing it. But I have a wide array of colors in my closet. I’ll have to check out the link. It’s a fun concept.

I am going to follow you even if you are a New York fan. lol your post yesterday was so interesting, I haven’t dared to text anybody since.
I thought the personality based on a color was neat. Some of it is coincidence, but when you read down through the definition then you see yourself. I found a bunch of things I wrote recently without looking too hard. What is your color? Thank you again for commenting, liking and just reading!

Wonderful post! I love all colors but Red and yellow the most. Had the same experience as you. One of my posts is called ‘Paint me Red, Red alone’.

Love the ‘wear your colors’ proudly! Going to do that today. Red it is! :D

      Thank you so much.
Red I looked up the short definition of red and yellow.
If your favorite color is red, you are action oriented with a deep need for physical fulfillment and to experience life through the five senses.
Choosing yellow as your favorite means you have a deep need for logical order in your everyday life and to be able to express your individuality by using your logical mind to inspire and create new ideas.
There is a whole page about both of these and I am sure that you have read all about red! It was fun to think about and write about, I like finding the pictures. The Family Guy and Arrested Development are two great shows. Look forward to your magic today.

Thank you Kim, I went right to the page to see what purple and green meant.
“If green is your favorite, you have a deep need to belong, to love and be loved, and to feel safe and secure. You need acceptance and acknowledgment for the everyday things you do for others – just a ‘thank you’ is sufficient.”

“If purple or violet is your favorite color, you have a deep need for emotional security and to create order and perfection in all areas of your life, including your spiritual life. You also have a deep need to initiate and participate in humanitarian projects, helping others in need.”
Do those sound like you? I don’t know some are pretty generic and could apply to almost anyone, but then again maybe they are just for you! Thank you for commenting and reading my humble post.

tYou should read the page for each color, lots more detail. I had a hard time disputing any of the things they said about me. Thank you for the comment, love getting them so never hesitate to tell me what is on your mind Kim.

Thank you, I am an unapologetic Superman Fan. Your boyfriend must be awesome if he likes Superman! I am doing the drawing exercise today if I have time, or tomorrow if not. I will share the pictures. then you will have to tell me what they mean. Really I can’t draw at all, so it should be pretty interesting.

I know, it was really pretty close. The young lady who comes up with all of that stuff is pretty fascinating. Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my site. I was looking through your blog yesterday. Loved it, look forward to reading more.

You know, I’m blue, too. Well, not in that I’m depressed, but that it’s my favorite color. Many of my friends would say it’s because of my affinity to the Dallas Cowboys, but the truth is that I’ve always found the color to be soothing and peaceful. I think that the description is also fairly accurate. The only part I don’t agree with is the “inflexible viewpoint” piece. I can be very flexible…but the person trying to change my point of view needs to be intelligent and present their case well. ;-)

First, thanks for taking the time to comment. :-) second, Dallas Cowboys? ? It must be horrible to be a fan. No matter how good they look in the first half they are going to lose in horribly heart breaking fashion. :-( I remember doing that post. So much fun. I like trying new things. There were a few good activities presented by my blog bud Creative Guru.

It’s not so much horrible to be a Cowboys fan as it is painful. I just wish Jerry would go ahead and fire himself already. Maintain the position of Owner, but let his son, Steven, have the GM title. Ugh.
