Why do you need so many golf clubs?

For those new to golfing, it can appear ludicrous to want fourteen different clubs simply to smack a ball enough times to get it to the end of the course.

Here I may outline some of the most significant key things that you want to understand about golfing clubs. After you understand these, you can begin to perfect you own capability to pick the best club to use at any time in the game.

This, with a robust and accurate swing, is how it’s possible for you to start to win more games. You can head out to the golfing course with only a couple of different clubs which will adjust to different styles. This small selection will permit you to really polish your talents and become really good at your stroke methodology. After you have done this, you can decide to graduate up to a full golfing club set which has all fourteen varieties.

At this point, you may know precisely what clubs to be employed in a given situation, and be in a position to select the best one at any point. They most likely replaced some perfectly good clubs only a couple of months back to get the new and the best clubs. You will find out that they have many old golfing club sets stored away in their garage. You may either ask to borrow them for a long time period, or just buy them. There are certain characteristics which will always give away someone that should go for a stiffer rod. Good golf drivers like Titleist 905R will certainly help you get your game on track.

They are awfully unique and take some becoming familiar with, but if you can try one out at the store before you purchase it, you will discover that it adds a completely new part to your game. If you are not feeling happy with the grips on your golfing clubs, you can always replace them.

You can shop for good Golf Clubs here.

Better grips can improve a lot about your game, including the power of the stroke that you make.GolfEtail.com 468x60b static free shipping

Promotional Golf Campaign Is One Effective Marketing Strategy

Promotional Golf Campaign Is One Effective Marketing Strategy

As spring ushers in a month or so, golf enthusiasts are gearing up for a fun summer of play.

If you have not previously marketed to golfers, it’s about time to consider the idea, especially if you desire to up your sales this year. Golfers are a high-spending demographic. The sport itself is an expensive upkeep, as club memberships, green fees, equipment maintenance, and travel expenses do not come cheap. So if you are looking into focusing on an upscale marketing, a promotional golf campaign is one effective marketing strategy.

Your promotional activities need not be as magnanimous as sponsoring a golf tournament or getting a popular celebrity as a spokesperson. Improving your visibility among serious golfers and amateurs can be simple and easy–promotional items can help you widen your reach among the golfing demographic, even allowing you to showcase your brand before people who are not necessarily into the sport.

Here are some of the many ways you can use golfing giveaways to make your brand more popular:

1. Promotional golf umbrellas are one of the easiest ways to build up visibility in the golf course. Larger than the ordinary models, golf umbrellas offer a wider canopy to protect the golfer and his equipment. This wide canopy is an advantage to branders looking for wide imprint areas to customize with their blown-up corporate logos. Promotional golf umbrellas are surely the best way to be seen.

2. If business deals are more frequently closed in golf courses than in the boardroom, promotional golf paraphernalia like golf balls, tees, gloves, and accessories are some of the most effective ways to enhance business relationships. What’s cooler than a business card? A promotional golf ball imprinted with your company’s name and contact number.

3. Golf is fast becoming a sport for females. Many years ago, golf courses used to be an exclusive male-only hangout for urban professionals and business executives, like a spacious locker room, only this time, an al fresco version with a lot of grass and fresh air. Zero in on the fashionable female golfer with performance promotional golf polo shirts, functional shoe bags, and aesthetically pleasing sports bags.

2009 Golf Holidays - World Class Cyprus

Golf Holiday | Comments (0) admin @ 3:46 pm

2009 Golf Holidays - World Class Cyprus

There’s plenty of places golfers could head for in 2009 for a golf holiday, but how many of those destinations can virtually guarantee good weather?

In some parts of the world, tourism often slows during the colder winter months. Due to the location and year round mild climate of Cyprus, the island is becoming one of the best places in the world for year round golfing and other tourist activity - the weather in Cyprus is conducive to good golf holidays.

Golf courses, clubs and resorts on Cyprus range in difficulty from beginner to professional level. The Cyprus Golf Federation (CGF) is golf’s official ruling body on the island. Five of the major resorts on Cyprus offer great 18-hole golf courses. They offer special training areas for beginners, some in the form of a golf academy. Aphrodite Hills Golf Club and Korineum Golf and Country Club both offer three-hole academy courses to accommodate new golfers.

Aphrodite Hills Resort

The Aphrodite Hills Golf Course is named after the area it overlooks: the birthplace of the Goddess Aphrodite. Located near Paphos, where it overlooks the Mediterranean Sea, the Aphrodite Hills Golf Course was designed by Cabell Robinson and built in 2002. This 578 acre golf course encompasses the resort, offering great views of the hotel and village centre, popular for holidays in Cyprus. A dramatic ravine between two of the course’s plateaus offers a unique golfing opportunity. Surrounding the golf course is a protected forest.

Korineum Golf and Country Club

The Korineum Golf and Country Club is a private club. It was the first 18-hole golf course built on the northern part of Cyprus. The course offers great views of the Mediterranean Sea and the Five Finger Mountain Range. Located near Esentepe, the course consists of 18-holes, a driving range, Korineum Golf Academy and a shop where golfers may purchase or rent equipment. The Club House houses a fitness center, spa, massage parlor, hairdresser and sauna, as well as executive meeting rooms, conference rooms, restaurants and bars.

Secret Valley Golf Course

Considered one of the most prestigious golf courses on Cyprus, the Secret Valley Golf Course is situated about 11 miles east of Paphos. The resort offers an excellent golfing experience for beginners to expert golfers. The Club House offers facilities such as a shop where golfers may buy or rent equipment, a bar, a restaurant and a locker room. The verandas of the resort’s primary restaurant overlook the golf course and provide amazing scenic opportunities. Guest villas and apartments were built to accommodate the many visiting golfers it receives each year with some good hotels in Cyprus nearby too.

Tsada Golf Course

At 500 meters above sea level, the Tsada Golf Course is an incredibly beautiful, scenic course. Completed in 1994, the Tsada Golf Course was the first full grassed 18-hole golf course built on Cyprus. The gently sloping fairways are lined with fruit trees and grape vines. Nearby Coral Bay offers golfers the opportunity to relax and enjoy one of Cyprus’ best and most popular beaches. As with most other golf clubs, Tsada offers academy-style training. What sets Tsada Golf Course’s training apart from others is the fact that training is provided by a PGA professional.

Vikla Golf and Country Club

Designed by Robin Houry and built in 1992, the Vikla Golf and Country Club is open to the public and one of the most relaxed golf clubs on the island. For just over 25 pounds (or 30 Euros), you can golf all day. Club rental, golf balls, tees and water are included in the price. The Club House offers a wide variety of activities for golfers and non-golfers alike. Non-golfers can enjoy the swimming pool and other amenities while their golf-loving counterparts enjoy a day on the course.

Alicante Golf

golf courses | Comments (0) admin @ 3:46 pm

Alicante Golf

The Alicante Golf course is situated in a coastal region of Alicante called La Playa San Juan. Alicante golf is a par 72 golf course, designed by Severiano Ballesteros. This golf course was part of an Alicante Urbanization project that included housing, schools, shopping centers, hotels, a sports complex and a new fire station is next on the list.

The Alicante Golf course is made up of an area of 535.000 m2. It is 6.270 meters long with 3.125 meters on the front nine and the rest on the back nine.
Severiano Ballesteros considered the course to be very attractive with a high degree of variation. There are large tee areas and quite wide fairways, with five large lakes and some archaeological remains which make it quite a testing course to play on.

Alicante Golf is situated just five minutes from the Mediterranean sea and is an ideal golf and beach holiday destination. The golf course was first opened in 1988 and is one of the few courses that can boast of having 6 par 3s, 6 par 4s and 6 par 5s. There are refreshments available as well as a well priced restaurant inside the clubhouse. The full golfing etiquette applies at Alicante Golf so make sure that you aren’t wearing jeans or you won’t be able to play.

Accommodation for playing at Alicante Golf is varied as you can choose from a whole range of hotels although the closest is the Hesperia hotel which has 5 stars and they will assist you with tee times. You could also choose a luxury rental villa that is situated on the Alicante Golf course. The public transport here is excellent or if you prefer there are also a number of English speaking taxi drivers that are used to doing golf course runs.

If you wish to come and play at Alicante Golf you would need to fly to Alicante Airport and then it’s just a 25 minute drive to the Playa San Juan. The taxi fare should cost about 30 Euro, car hire about 100 Euro a week or if you’re brave, the bus and tram could also take you to Alicante Golf for just 2 Euro.

Alicante Golf is the only golf course in the Alicante capital itself although there are several in the area that are of similar dimensions. Make sure you take a day off golf to go and visit Alicante, which has a very impressive harbour area and plenty of restaurants and bars to help you relax and take in the marvels of Alicante.

Just a short tram trip from Alicante Golf you will find the modern fishing village of El Campello, that you will find to be the perfect place for spending the day on one of the many beach side bars where you can soak up the sun in a relaxing style.

Golf Swing Teaching For Beginners

golf tips | Comments (0) admin @ 12:46 pm

Golf Swing Teaching: An Faq For Beginners Just Starting To Play Golf

Are you starting to play golf? There are a lot of things to remember and learn, aren’t there? Some things are important, while others seem absolutely trivial in comparison. Can you tell the difference? Here is a list of 10 questions which beginners often ask about learing to play golf.

1. What is the best way to learn golf?

Get golf lessons for beginners. There is no question that most people learn golf best by having a live human instructor. You want an instructor with a good reputation. For a start, don’t get personal one-on-one instruction (even if you can afford it). You want to attend a class with a few other students. This gives you a little bit of competition, which always helps to motivate your learning. In the long run, it is also easier for you to find people to play with after your lessons end.

2. What should I learn first - how to drive the golf ball, chipping or putting?

In general, that depends on your golf instructor. Many commercial golf schools and trainers emphasize golf swing instructions. Why? Because that is what most beginning golfers want to learn. Most golfers, especially beginners, want to emulate Tiger Woods spectacular 200+ yard drives.

However, what most amateurs don’t realize is that pros earn their living by superior putting. 30% to 40% of your game is spent putting. This statistic even applies to the pros. Many high-handicap players find that getting some dedicated golf putting instructions helped to slash their handicap.

As a beginner, you’ll find yourself in trouble most of the time. You’ll probably find yourself spending 15 to 20 strokes chipping the ball… on your good days. Learning how to play your pitching wedge and sand wedge well is a must.

Regardless, don’t forget to ask your golf instructor to evaluate your grip. Before you even learn how to swing the club, you need to learn how to grip a golf club correctly.

In my circle, it used to be an important part of golf swing teaching, but I hear that modern golf trainers place less emphasis on the grip. Why should you care? Because many players hook or slice their balls due to an incorrect grip. There is no reason not to learn how to grip your golf club correctly. If you need more help than your instructor can give you, why not buy training grips? Amazon sells them for as little as $5 (at the time of writing). You may find them uncomfortable at first, but that just shows that you have a problem with your grip.

3. What should I wear on the golf course?

If you are taking golf lessons for beginners, pick up the phone and ask your instructor. However, golf is very commercialized nowadays. On most courses, it is OK to wear any kind of collared shirt and (non-jeans) trousers. Many places are starting to allow even t-shirts and casual khaki pants.

4. Should I tip my golf instructor?

Would you tip your waiter for good service? If you thing your instructor helped you a lot, then tip him to show your appreciation.

5. What clubs do I need to play golf?

You need exactly 14 golf clubs in a real game. You need a driver (1-wood), 3-wood and 5-wood, a set of (7) irons from 3 to 9, pitching wedge, sand wedge, putter, and one more club of your choice. As a beginner, you’ll find yourself in trouble a lot - picking a third wedge or a hybrid club can be very helpful.

6. What are custom-fitted clubs? Do I need them?

Many years ago, most people just went to their local golf shop to buy clubs off the shelf. Nowadays, golf shops are a lot more advanced. They can actually customize your clubs to the way you swing them, sometimes for free!

Unless your instructor advises you to get custom-fitted clubs, I would avoid them as a beginner. Custom-fitted golf clubs are best for intermediate-level players who have developed a stable golf swing. At this (intermediate) level, you will find a custom-fitted driver, putter and wedges very helpful to lower your handicap.

7. What are the best clubs for me?

As a beginner, a cheap, complete set of secondhand golf clubs is best. Know that you will make mistakes - many, many mistakes. You WILL bang your club into the ground and bend it. You WILL lose control of your club and bend it. You WILL miss the ball and break your club.

You really need very cheap clubs that you dare to make mistakes with. This is your learning set - these clubs are expendable. You should expect to replace your clubs several times over your first few years of playing… if you seriously expect to lower your golf handicap.

A $400 Callaway driver is not a good club for a beginner. An expensive club like this will paralyze your game. You won’t dare to swing it hard. You’ll be too afraid of breaking the club to get any practice in. On the other hand, a “cheapo” secondhand X-Factor Super Zolex off Ebay is a different matter. Who cares how many of them you bend or break while learning to drive the ball?

8. What are the best golf swing training aids?

To be blunt, go sign up for golf lessons for beginners. Next, buy four or five boxes of golf balls to practise with. You can get secondhand balls in good condition from Amazon for as little as $0.50 a piece. Top players like Tiger Woods and Vijay Singh (one of the top earners on the golf circuit) don’t just rely on their natural talent to win. They hit hundreds of golf balls everyday. If you expect to improve your golf swing, go hit at least one bucket of balls every weekend.

Frankly, for beginners, most golf swing training aids are useless unless used under the guidance of a skilled instructor. Until you consistently make good contact with your golf balls and can hit the sweet spot of your club relatively often, any commercially available golf swing training aid is a waste of time and money.

9. Can I learn golf from free golf lessons online?

Well, the PGA has some pretty good videos. But don’t expect to get something for nothing. Most free golf lessons online will not give you everything. You need to know that these sites expect to sell you something. That means there is usually some important detail hidden from you. If you are naturally talented at sports, you could probably work out the hidden key. But for most of us, we need everything. And that means paying - whether it is a DVD course, an online course or face-to-face golf lessons with a human instructor.

10. What is the perfect golf swing?

There is no such thing. If you look at the pros, you’ll find that everyone swings differently. That said, there are two main types of golf swing - the one plane swing and the two plane swing. The one plane swing was pioneered by Ben Hogan and Jim Hardy, and employs a more natural rotary swinging motion where you match your arms and shoulders throughout the swing. Today, you can see Vijay Singh and Tiger Woods employing this type of swing. Many other pros use the two plane swing, where they blend the flat rotation of their body with the upright swinging of their arms. For those of you old enough to remember him, this is how Jack Nicklaus plays.

Unless you intend to go pro, it doesn’t matter to you. Just follow what your golf instructor teaches you in your lessons and you won’t go wrong.
